Intern With Fifty Fifty Music
A college or grad student who loves music? Music lover considering a career change?
Fifty Fifty Music offers four month to one year internships at our New York office, specifically designed to provide hands-on experience with all elements of record company operation. Interns learn about distribution, retail promotion, radio promotion, publicity and tour support functions through their work with Fifty Fifty Music artists and their releases.
To be considered for the internship, you must be willing to commit 20 hours per week, generally during weekday business hours. School credit is available depending on your institution's requirements. To date, we have had interns from as far away as Sweden and Scotland and from as close to home as Manhattan. Although the internship is unpaid, we cover transportation expenses (up to $150/month) for those coming from the Greater Metropolitan area. Our previous interns have gone on to work at almost every major label and several larger independents.
David Seitz, Fifty Fifty Music's president, supervises the internship. In addition to his work at Fifty Fifty Music, he teaches in the Baruch College Entertainment Business Department and is a producer/recording engineer who has worked with such artists as Dar Williams, Richard Shindell, Christine Lavin, Michelle Shocked, Suzanne Vega and many others.
